SAU Honors College

The SAU Honors College was founded in 2003 by Dr. David Rankin, president of SAU. Dr. Lynne Belcher served as founding director and is retired from SAU. The Honors College seeks and admits qualified students who seek to pursue a serious academic program with equally gifted peers and committed teachers. Honors classes are small and provide academically enriching opportunities for students and the faculty who teach them. Currently, SAU enrolls nearly 170 honors students and graduates about 66% of admitees in four years or less. Anyone interested in applying to the Honors College or seeking further information should contact the director, Dr. Edward P. Kardas at epkardas@saumag.edu or at 870 904-8897.

Hill, Lillee: Bucket List

I don't have lofty dreams of changing the world, I simply want to have a good time.  With that in mind here is my "bucket list".

The first and most important thing on my list is something I would not be doing.  I want to see the Boston Red Sox play the Mets in the World Series, featuring Tim Wakefield pitching into at least the seventh inning of the seventh game. It should end on a walk off grand slam by Kevin Youkilis with the ball coming down on Lansdowne Street and smashing the windshield on my car.

Second, I would like to be in a hurricane.  It should be a category 2 to 4, not too weak but also not strong enough to kill me. I've already been in a tornado, a small flood,  and an earthquake. The hurricane is the last remaining natural disaster I could experience in America.
Third, I would like to open a successful bakery in a city such as Boston or Providence.  Both are big enough to support such an endeavor. I really enjoy baking and would like to make some money off it.
Fourth, I would like to have a novel published or a photograph hung in a major gallery.  I have started to write several novels but never seem to make it past the first couple chapters so that goal might be a little unrealistic.  However, I have taken several amazing photographs that I believe would look great hanging on the wall of a gallery.
Fifth, I would like be the first person in my family to earn a Doctorate.  I don't know yet what I would like it to be in but I know I want it.
