The Honors College seeks and admits qualified students who seek to pursue a serious academic program with equally gifted peers and committed teachers. Brinkley, James: Bucket List

Every person, including myself, tends to live life as though tomorrow is guaranteed. In truth, every person has a set number of days in this life and another day can’t be assured. Before I approach my final days on earth, I’ll attempt to make a few of my desires a reality.

No life is truly worth living without a family by your side. I aspire to create a family that’s as loving and supportive as the one my parents created for me. A family is a worthwhile endeavor because the relationships it will create will continue to foster after I’m gone. The Holy Bible is a book that never ceases to deliver guidance to my life. Even though I’ve read through its multiple verses, I need to read it from front to back and comprehend the material. As a Christian, it’s important to study every word God intends me to see. The career-oriented portion of my life is centered on getting an undergraduate degree in biology, then obtaining a master’s degree. I strive for a worthwhile career and hope to study Optometry, but Christ has showed me these endeavors are never set in stone.

Throughout my life, I’ve always been interested in drawing. I’d enjoy setting aside  time to create pieces of charcoal art. Although life is very meaningful, I need to pursue a hobby that will keep it from becoming mundane. I believe that rock-climbing will be the perfect resolution. Rock-climbing appears to be very exciting, but I can only hope it is not cause of my death. Dying due to my bucket list is too ironic for my taste.

Hopefully, I will be able to check off every item on my bucket list before I die. If I can’t, then I didn’t try hard enough.
