The SAU Honors College was founded in 2003 by Dr. David Rankin, president of SAU. Dr. Lynne Belcher served as founding director and is retired from SAU. The Honors College seeks and admits qualified students who seek to pursue a serious academic program with equally gifted peers and committed teachers. Currently, SAU enrolls nearly 170 honors students and graduates about 66% of admitees in four years or less. Newby, Jordan: Bucket List

Like most people, I have a bucket list that has been steadily accumulating adventures to go on before I “kick the bucket”. Although majority of the things that have been added over the years are forgotten along with the silly band/sparkly ugg fads they came with, there are five items that have persevered.

Firstly, a lifelong dream of mine is becoming a member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading team. I believe this goal has stuck with me for so long because of how attainable it is for me. I am more than willing to train for it, and have been coached and trained by veteran cheerleaders since I began cheer and dance at the age of 3.

Secondly, is to live on the coast in Greece for any amount of time possible. I think it is one of the most beautiful, picturesque places in the world.

Thirdly, I wish to be a company’s CFO, preferably a Fortune 500 company, but not only do I want this amazing job, I want to be able to enjoy doing it.

Fourthly after traveling the world, cheering on the Cowboys from the sidelines, and becoming a millionaire with my awesome CFO position, I want to be able to retire at a reasonably young age and open my own bakery. Baking is most certainly a passion of mine that I would love to share with others.

Lastly, and most importantly I believe, I want to make a positive impact on the world, big or small. Regardless of how life ends up playing out, I want to be able to look back and say that something or someone was genuinely better because of me. Even if this is the only thing I accomplish off of this list, I can confidently say I would have no regrets.
