A
bucket list—a collection of experiences or achievements a person wishes to have
before they miss their chance because of age or financial restrictions. My
bucket list is simple. I don’t wish to do anything crazy like climb Mt. Everest,
or even be the president. The experiences and achievements I wish to have are
to graduate college, have a connected family, and grow old with that one
special someone.
Graduating
from college will be a life time achievement for me. Not because I will be the
first in my family to do so, but because it’s something that I have personally
been looking forward to since the moment I started Greenbrier High School. My
teachers showed me just how important graduating from college really is if I
wanted to have a comfortable life. Now that I am in college and only a few more
years away from accomplishing this achievement, I get excited that I am about
to cross off a major item on my bucket list.
Having
a connected family and having a special someone to grow old with go well
together. This item comes from seeing how happy my grandpa is always. For the
last ten years, after my parents were divorced, I observed that my grandpa was
always happy and my dad was always unhappy. When I compared their level of happiness, I realized that my grandpa’s
happiness came from having a successful family and having that one special
someone to grow old with; making those two things a necessity on my bucket
list.
A
bucket list should provide happiness to one’s life. Nothing could make this
soul any happier than graduating from college, having a connected family, and
having that one special someone to grow old with.
