SAU Honors College

The SAU Honors College was founded in 2003 by Dr. David Rankin, president of SAU. Dr. Lynne Belcher served as founding director and is retired from SAU. The Honors College seeks and admits qualified students who seek to pursue a serious academic program with equally gifted peers and committed teachers. Honors classes are small and provide academically enriching opportunities for students and the faculty who teach them. Currently, SAU enrolls nearly 170 honors students and graduates about 66% of admitees in four years or less. Anyone interested in applying to the Honors College or seeking further information should contact the director, Dr. Edward P. Kardas at epkardas@saumag.edu or at 870 904-8897.

Snyder, Emily: Bucket List

Due to the limited time I have on Earth, I will not be able to accomplish everything I want, so I created a bucket list to make sure I complete my most important goals. The number one task on my bucket list is to marry the love of my life. I want what few people find in life: a person who sticks by their side through the good and bad times, supports and helps them achieve their wildest dreams, and betters them as a person. I want a man who makes my grayest skies blue and performs random sweet gestures like sending flowers just because it is Tuesday. The second task on my bucket list is to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and use it help better the world. I want to go on medical mission trips around the world to provide medical services to people who do not have the same opportunities that we do in the United States. The third task on my bucket list is to travel the world and learn about different cultures. I especially want to travel all throughout South America because I speak Spanish, so it will not be easier to communicate with locals. I also want to backpack throughout Europe and see the pictures from my history book come to life. I want to experience all these cultures first hand and be able to tell my grandchildren stories of all my unbelievable adventures. If I can accomplish marrying the love of my life, using a Doctor of Pharmacy degree to better the world, and traveling across the globe from one end to the other I would be thoroughly content with the way I lived my life.
