SAU Honors College

The SAU Honors College was founded in 2003 by Dr. David Rankin, president of SAU. Dr. Lynne Belcher served as founding director and is retired from SAU. The Honors College seeks and admits qualified students who seek to pursue a serious academic program with equally gifted peers and committed teachers. Honors classes are small and provide academically enriching opportunities for students and the faculty who teach them. Currently, SAU enrolls nearly 170 honors students and graduates about 66% of admitees in four years or less. Dupree, Tynasha: Bucket List

Death is inevitable so before death comes knocking at our door we as human beings would like to make the best of life and achieve goals by creating a bucket list. Here are a few accomplishments I would like to achieve before I die.

First, I want to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southern Arkansas University and after that I will continue my education to receive a master’s degree in nursing to become a nurse practitioner, specializing in the pediatric field. Working in the medical field has always been a dream of mine, and my love of children has always driven me to want to work in the medical field that involves children.

Second thing on my bucket list is to go to Japan.  The main reason that I want to go to Japan is because I am a big fan of Japanese anime and Manga. I also enjoy Japanese culture, which includes: the music, the food, and the language. I am determined to learn the language because it is so fascinating to me. While I’m there, I will finish the third quest on my bucket list which is to go to an anime convention.

Fourth on my list is to experience the thrill of skydiving. In my opinion, skydiving is the ultimate thrill ride. I have been on many roller coaster type rides, and they aren’t as scary as people presume them to be. The idea of jumping out of a plane thousands of feet above a perfectly safe surface with only a parachute in a bag is terrifying but alluring.

Last but not least, I would love to go on mission trips. I believe that it will be a life changing positive experience.
