McNeel, Taylor: Bucket List

Often, it is said that people need to “Live the Dash,” referring to the ‘dash’ that sits between the birth and death year.  The dash occupies less room than the four digit years on either side, but it accounts for the majority of life.  In the ‘dash’ of my life, I hope to accomplish many things, including the following five items on my Bucket List.

I am majoring in Agricultural Business with a minor in Spanish.  With this degree, I plan to be an advocate for agriculture by working for businesses and organizations in public affairs and government policy.  The best place to be so involved is in Washington, D.C. as an elected official, an agriculture specialist, or both.

Along with that career goal, I aspire to be on a ‘Top 20 People to Watch’ or ‘Most Influential People’ list.  It would be an honor to be named as someone who others saw as inspiring and dedicated to their work.

Growing up on a farm, I have spent many years showing livestock on a local to national level.  One of my goals is to attend every major livestock show in the country.  I have a pretty good start, but have about six more to attend.

Seeing my grandparents married for over fifty years and my parents for twenty-seven, I have realized the value in finding the ‘right one.’ A life goal of mine is to get marry to my prince charming.

Lastly, I want to be a contestant on the TV show the Amazing Race.  I have watched this show for many years now and want to challenge myself to accomplish the tasks on the show.

The ‘dash’ in my life is going to be epic if these bucket list items are accomplished.
