The SAU Honors College was founded in 2003 by Dr. David Rankin, president of SAU. Dr. Lynne Belcher served as founding director and is retired from SAU. The Honors College seeks and admits qualified students who seek to pursue a serious academic program with equally gifted peers and committed teachers. Honors classes are small and provide academically enriching opportunities for students and the faculty who teach them. Currently, SAU enrolls nearly 170 honors students and graduates about 66% of admitees in four years or less. Vaughn, Tia: Bucket List

Everyone has at least a few things they want to do before they die, and for me there are a few things I would have on my bucket list. At the top of that list is to go to Italy for as long as it would take to see places such as the Coliseum and the Pantheon. Italy also has many other ancient buildings that I would really like to see because I have always been interested in history and many of the buildings in Italy are important to much of European history, and experiencing some of the Italian culture.

Another thing on my bucket list would be learning to play the piano better. Although I already know how to play the piano some, I would love to sit down at a piano and play any type of music easily. I would also love to learn to play the guitar and the violin before I die.

Another item on my list would be to dive to a shipwreck. I like to swim. Diving to a shipwreck and possibly finding some artifact would be really fun.

The last thing I have on my bucket list is to go paragliding. I would love to see a beautiful landscape from that point of view so I could better appreciate the earth’s beauty. Also, I believe that paragliding would be safer than skydiving or bungee jumping, although I’m sure both would be fun. I can see myself paragliding but not ever skydiving or bungee jumping. Paragliding from the top of a mountain and being in the air for just a short while is more my speed.
