Dison, Michaela: Bucket List

My bucket list contains the places that I have always wanted to visit. First a trip to Australia, because there is so much diversity of landscapes and so many different places to see. While in Australia I want to scuba dive off the Great Barrier Reef. There are so many species living there that it would be wonderful sight to see some of them.

My next destination would be the Coliseum. Its design is so intriguing and I would love to visit a place that I have studied and learned so much about. The use of all three styles of columns was ingenious on the part of the Romans, and I would love to be able to study the extraordinary piece of architecture up close.

After I would go on to Istanbul and visit the Hagia Sophia. That building has had many uses since it was built and I would love to see how the sunlight flowing through the clerestory makes the dome appear to be floating above your head. Such a magnificent building cannot help but be admired.

After, and to add more culture to my life, I would take a trip to Agra and visit the Taj Mahal. This magnificent building looks fit for a king, but was, in reality, built as a mausoleum for the king’s favorite wife. Its domes and minarets present a pleasing picture for the eye.

My last stop would be the Louvre. It houses many of the world’s most famous pieces of artwork. I would to be able to see Nike of Samothrace and so many other works that are housed in this notable museum. It would be the highlight of my life to be able to view all of these magnificent pieces of art in one location.

I have dreamed of visiting all of these places and hope that one day all of my dreams will come true by way of this bucket list.
