SAU Honors College

The SAU Honors College was founded in 2003 by Dr. David Rankin, president of SAU. Dr. Lynne Belcher served as founding director and is retired from SAU. The Honors College seeks and admits qualified students who seek to pursue a serious academic program with equally gifted peers and committed teachers. Honors classes are small and provide academically enriching opportunities for students and the faculty who teach them. Currently, SAU enrolls nearly 170 honors students and graduates about 66% of admitees in four years or less. Anyone interested in applying to the Honors College or seeking further information should contact the director, Dr. Edward P. Kardas at epkardas@saumag.edu or at 870 904-8897.

Rai, Navendra: Bucket List

My name is Navendra Rai. I am from Nepal. I completed junior high school at the Eureka Residential School, Dharan and senior high school in the science faculty from Xavier International College, Kathmandu. In this essay, I am describing some of the things I want to do before I die.

First, I want to compete in the WCG. WCG stands for the World Cyber Games. It is like the World Cup of cyber games and is one of my dreams. But, I don’t expect to win it. I like to play computer games like Counter Strike and DOTA. They are the best games that I have played so far.

Second, I want to visit the South East Asian countries, especially Indonesia. I have many chat friends from Indonesia. So it would be great to meet them in person.

Third, I want to go to the Moon and watch the Earth rise and set over the lunar horizon. When I was young I used to wonder why do only the Sun and the Moon rise and set? But when I found out that to an observer on the Moon, the Earth also rises and sets, I wanted to see it.

Fourth, would be to work with the band Metallica. I am fan of Metallica. Their music is so good. I would like to work with them although I am not that good in playing music. I admire them, their music, their concerts and I would love to be a part of that band.

These are the things I wanted to do before I die. It includes participating in WCG, visiting Indonesia, going to the Moon and working with Metallica.
