Bucket List: Amber Johnson

Before this assignment, I had never seen Rob Reiner’s “The Bucket List,” and I had never put any thought to my own bucket list. However, after watching the movie, I started thinking about my future goals. With the movie in mind, my bucket list consists of only a few items: graduating college, going to law school, settling down in California, and traveling the world.

The first item on my bucket list is why I am attending Southern Arkansas University. In order to get into law school, I must obtain a Bachelor’s degree first. I am excited for the next four years, and I can’t wait to mark my first item off of my list.

The second item on my bucket list, is to attend law school. Law school has certainly not always been my plan, but, after years of being confused about my calling, I feel that it is what I’m meant to do. I hope to become a civil rights lawyer so that I can work with cases involving discrimination, equality, and human rights.

Next on my bucket list, is to settle down in California with a family. However, I am not trying to rush this part of my life. Whenever I find the right person I’ll know, and this particular goal does not have to happen at a specific point in my life. I want to enjoy my career before I add a family.

Lastly, I want to travel the world. I knows this sounds like an ordinary goal, but I truly want to visit and see every continent. I want to experience the culture and the people of as many countries as I can throughout my life. I hope my future family will want to join me on this adventure.
