The SAU Honors College Community Council met for its first meeting today in Reynolds Hall. Dr. Rankin welcomed them to SAU and told them about the new Science Building, the history of the Honors College, and the current budget situation. After, I spoke about honors education in general and said that community councils are an important facet of honors colleges. The most important role for our new Council will be to publicize the SAU Honors College throughout the region.

The Council will meet again on April 21 at 5:30 (just before the Honors College Banquet). This year the Honors College will be soliciting for individuals, groups, and businesses to sponsor tables at the banquet. An online silent eBay auction will end during the banquet. The Honors College is looking for items to auction.
