SAU Honors College

The SAU Honors College was founded in 2003 by Dr. David Rankin, president of SAU. Dr. Lynne Belcher served as founding director and is retired from SAU. The Honors College seeks and admits qualified students who seek to pursue a serious academic program with equally gifted peers and committed teachers. Honors classes are small and provide academically enriching opportunities for students and the faculty who teach them. Currently, SAU enrolls nearly 170 honors students and graduates about 66% of admitees in four years or less. LPA Outstanding Students

Congratulations to James Schlag (English and Foreign Languages), Amanda Cannon (Theatre and Communications), and Chris Harris (History, Political Science, and Geography) for winning the outstanding student awards from their respective departments.

In addition, Amanda won the big prize, outstanding student in the College of Liberal and Performing Arts. She will next move on to New York City to pursue her dream of being a professional actress. James Schlag will pursue a PhD in English, and Chris will enroll in SAU's Graduate School to study counseling.

All will graduate on Friday having earned their degrees in four years. Best of luck in the future.
