Williams, Jessica: Bucket List

When I first sat down and tried to think of my bucket list, I realized I did not have specific things in mind. Who does not have a set of ideas of things they would like to conquer before they die? Well, I did not. Then it came to me, I am terrified of most things other people put on their lists such as: sky diving, cliff hanging and scuba diving. That led me to see that the one major item on my bucket list is overcoming my fears.

I do, however, have other things on my list: becoming fluent in German. After living in Germany six months that is one of them. I took one year of German in high school and loved it. In addition, I briefly studied their manners and etiquette. I want to take a deeper look at their customs. While in Germany I could mark some traveling off of my list as well. I want to be able to understand other people and their cultures. Nothing seems to fascinate me more.

I cannot leave out learning how to play chess and learning how to box. Strategy and performance are two of my favorite things, and from what I have seen both of those require each.

That, in a nutshell, would have to be my bucket list. I am sure as I get older I will find even more tasks that I would like to be able to accomplish, but for now that is it. Bucket lists are intended to make people feel validation that they have accomplished something in their life that they never thought they could do or was only fantasies. I can say that my bucket list would allow me to feel that validation.
