Anderson, Kiley: Bucket List

Horace stated an all too familiar phrase- “Carpe diem”. In Latin, this translates to “seize the day.” When creating a bucket list, this phrase is generally the mindset that people take.  While I most certainly cannot perform every item today, these are the acts I would like to accomplish before I “kick the bucket.”

My first exploit is to receive a full body massage in the Caribbean. Why, you ask? On a cruise, you are isolated from civilization. It is just pure relaxation. Therefore, it is the perfect place for a massage.

Secondly, I would like to see the Northern Lights. As a Christian, I am daily reminded of God’s wonderful creation. Seeing the Northern Lights would be similar to watching an artist cast the strokes of the sky onto his canvas. I believe it would be truly breathtaking.

I am not athletic. While I try to stay healthy, the cookies beckon me time and time again. Running a marathon would be a huge accomplishment, especially for people like me. It would mean that I would be at my prime in regards to health. That is a feat I have always wanted to accomplish.

Have you ever traveled to a place where people spoke another language? I have, and I desperately longed to know what everyone was saying. After that experience, I knew that I wanted to become bilingual.

Lastly, and most importantly, I want to get married one day and start a family. That has always been one of my top priorities in life. I cherish my family, and I know that someday I will have a little family of my own. If I do not achieve every other item on this list, I pray I achieve this one.
