Boyter, Lauren: Bucket List

Throughout life I have aspired to achieve many goals.  I know life can end in the blink of an eye.  Before I die, I want to do the things I have put on my “bucket list.”
The single most important thing I want to do before I pass away is establish a career for myself.  Of course most people believe this is a given, but it isn’t.  Some people never do anything with their lives, and as a nurse, I want to be highly regarded and respected in my workplace.
Traveling has always been a passion of mine. I have wanted to visit Italy since I was seven.  Since then, I have grown to desire visiting Paris, as well. So, another item on my “bucket list” is to visit Europe and see the sights of Italy and Paris.  On the subject of traveling, I want to go skiing in Colorado because I have never skied nor been to Colorado.  I believe skiing would be an adventure of a lifetime.
Aside from “general” items most people put on a bucket list, I have two personal aspirations for myself.  First, I would like to get in shape and run a 5K.  I was athletic in middle school and would like to be able to do this for myself.  Being from the country, I have grown up around hunters and killing a deer before departing this life seems like a big dream to accomplish.
Although some may say my “bucket list” is too general and common, I believe it suits my lifestyle.  I may pass away tomorrow, who knows? One thing is for certain, I will not take another day for granted. After all, making my “bucket list” has inspired me to live life to the fullest.
